How do you change oil on 2005 jaguar Vanden plas?

Tools and materials needed:

- New oil filter (check owner's manual for correct size)

- New oil (check owner's manual for correct type and amount)

- Oil drain pan

- Funnel

- Wrench

- Rags

Instructions:

1. Park your car on a level surface. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down.

2. Engage the parking brake and chock the wheels. If you are working on a car with front-wheel drive, prop up the rear wheels with ramps or blocks of wood.

3. Remove the oil drain plug. The oil drain plug is usually located on the bottom of the oil pan. Use the wrench to loosen the oil drain plug and allow the oil to drain into the oil drain pan.

4. Replace the oil drain plug. Once the oil has completely drained, replace the oil drain plug and tighten it securely.

5. Locate the oil filter. The oil filter is usually located near the top of the engine. Use the wrench to loosen the oil filter and remove it.

6. Apply a thin coat of new oil to the gasket of the new oil filter. This will help to create a seal and prevent leaks.

7. Screw on the new oil filter. Hand-tighten the oil filter until it is snug, then use the wrench to tighten it another 1/2 turn.

8. Add new oil to the engine. Use the funnel to add new oil to the engine. Add the amount of oil specified in the owner's manual.

9. Check the oil level. Use the dipstick to check the oil level. The oil level should be between the "full" and "add" marks on the dipstick.

10. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. This will circulate the new oil throughout the engine.

11. Check for leaks. Look under the car for any leaks. If you see any leaks, tighten the oil drain plug or oil filter until the leak stops.

Tips:

- It is a good idea to change the oil filter every time you change the oil.

- If you are unsure about how to change the oil on your car, you can take it to a mechanic.
