1. Park your car on a level surface.
2. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down.
3. Engage the parking brake.
4. Locate the oil drain plug beneath the engine oil pan. It is typically a 17mm bolt.
5. Place an oil pan under the oil drain plug to catch the old oil.
6. Use a wrench to loosen the oil drain plug and allow the old oil to drain into the oil pan.
7. Be sure to allow all of the old oil to drain out before replacing the oil drain plug.
8. Replace the oil drain plug and tighten it securely.
9. Add new engine oil to the engine through the oil fill port.
10. Check the oil level using the oil dipstick.
11. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.
12. Turn off the engine and recheck the oil level.
13. Adjust the oil level as necessary.
