Tools Needed:
Lug wrench
Hammer
Flat-headed screwdriver
Brake caliper tool or C-clamp
New brake shoes (optional)
Instructions:
1. Loosen the lug nuts. Use the lug wrench to loosen the lug nuts on the rear wheel that you want to remove the brake drum from. It is important to note that Citroen brake drums are reverse threaded, so you must turn the wrench in the clockwise direction to loosen them.
2. Remove the hubcap (if present). Pry off the hubcap using the flat-headed screwdriver.
3. Remove the lug nuts and take off the wheel. Finish removing the lug nuts and lift off the wheel to expose the brake drum.
4. Disconnect the parking brake cable. Locate the parking brake cable that connects to the brake drum and carefully disconnect it by squeezing the clip and pulling the cable end out.
5. Remove the brake drum fixing screws. There will be two screws holding the brake drum to the wheel hub. Remove these using a flat-head screwdriver.
6. Pull off the brake drum. Use a hammer to gently tap on all sides of the brake drum until it is free from the hub and pull it off.
With the brake drum removed, you now have access to the brake shoes and other internal brake components for inspection and replacement if necessary.
Remember, it is crucial to follow safety measures and consult your vehicle's specific service manual or a professional mechanic if you are unsure or uncomfortable performing any automotive repairs on your own.
