1. Replacement Headlight Bulb (Match the original bulb type and size)
2. Pliers or Needle-Nose Pliers (for unfastening wire clips)
3. Phillips-head Screwdriver (optional, depending on the car model)
4. Clean Rag or Cloth
Instructions:
1. Turn Off the Headlights: Before you start, ensure the vehicle's headlights are switched off and the engine is turned off.
2. Open the Hood: Locate the hood release lever inside your car, usually beneath the dashboard on the driver's side. Pull the lever to release the hood.
3. Locate the Headlight Assembly: On most Mercedes-Benz vehicles, including the C280, the headlights are easily accessible from the front. Look for a circular cover or dust cap covering the back of the headlight assembly.
4. Remove the Dust Cap: The dust cap is usually attached by turning it counterclockwise until it comes off. Be gentle while removing it to avoid breaking the plastic parts.
5. Unplug the Wire Connectors: Once you remove the dust cap, you'll see several wire connectors attached to the headlight bulb. Disconnect these connectors by gently squeezing the release tab and pulling the connector straight out.
6. Remove the Old Bulb: Grasp the old headlight bulb and gently twist it counterclockwise until it loosens and comes out of the socket. Be careful not to drop the bulb.
7. Install the New Bulb: Align the new headlight bulb with the socket and gently turn it clockwise until it locks into place. Do not over-tighten the bulb.
8. Reconnect the Wire Connectors: Connect the wire connectors by aligning the tabs and pushing them firmly until they lock.
9. Replace the Dust Cap: Securely replace the protective dust cap by turning it clockwise until it's snug.
10. Test the Headlights: Close the hood and turn on the headlights to make sure the new bulb is working correctly.
11. Repeat for the Other Headlight: If needed, follow the same steps to replace the other headlight bulb.
Note: Please refer to your vehicle's specific owner's manual or consult with a professional mechanic if you encounter any challenges during the bulb replacement process. It's essential to follow the correct procedures to avoid any electrical damage to your vehicle.
