1. Park your car on a level surface. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down.
2. Open the bonnet and locate the oil filler cap. You will find the oil filter there too. To open it, rotate counter-clockwise.
3. Place an oil pan underneath the oil drain plug which is located at the bottom of the oil pan.
4. Use a wrench to loosen the oil drain plug and allow the old oil to drain completely into the oil pan.
5. Replace the oil drain plug and tighten it securely.
6. Locate the oil filter. It is usually located near the top of the engine.
7. Use an oil filter wrench to loosen and remove the old oil filter.
8. Apply a thin coat of new oil to the gasket of the new oil filter.
9. Screw on the new oil filter and tighten it securely by hand.
9. Open the oil filler cap and add new oil to the engine.
10. Check the oil level with the dipstick and add more oil if necessary.
11. Close the oil filler cap and start the engine. Let it run for a few minutes.
12. Turn off your car and check the oil level again.
