- New fuel filter (check your owner's manual for the correct part number)
- Fuel filter wrench (optional, but can make the job easier)
- Wrench
- Rags
- Safety glasses
Instructions:
1. To relieve the fuel pressure in the system ,remove the fuel pump relay ,located in the engine compartment fuse box .Crank the engine ,it should run for a few seconds and die. Disconnect the battery .
2. The fuel filter is located under the vehicle, near the fuel tank. You may need to raise the vehicle and/or remove the skid plate to access it.
3. Before removing anything ,place a rag under the fuel filter to catch any drips
4. Use the fuel filter wrench to loosen the fuel filter housing. Be careful not to spill any fuel.
5. Remove the old fuel filter and inspect it for any damage.
6. Install the new fuel filter in the housing and tighten the cap until it is snug.
7. Reconnect the fuel lines to the housing.
8. Start the vehicle and check for any leaks.
9. Replace any skid plates or other protective components you may have removed .
