1. Gather the Necessary Tools:
- Phillips-head screwdriver
- Pry tool or flathead screwdriver
- New window winder (if replacing)
2. Prepare the Window:
- Roll the window up to the top.
- Place a towel or cloth underneath the window to prevent it from falling and to protect the interior.
3. Remove Inner Door Panel:
- Use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the screws that hold the inner door panel in place.
- Gently pry around the edges of the door panel using a pry tool or flathead screwdriver to release the clips holding it in place.
- Disconnect any electrical connections between the door panel and the car, such as the door lock switch connector or window switch connector.
- Set the door panel aside safely
4. Locate the Window Winder Mechanism:
- Inside the door, you will see the window winder mechanism. It is usually attached to the door with several bolts.
5. Remove the Bolts:
- Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the bolts that hold the window winder in place.
6. Disconnect the Electrical Connector:
- Disconnect the electrical connector that is attached to the window winder.
7. Remove the Window Winder:
- Once the bolts are removed and the electrical connector is disconnected, you should be able to remove the window winder from the door.
8. Install the New Window Winder (if replacing):
- If you are replacing the window winder, insert the new winder into the opening.
- Secure with the bolts you removed in step 5
- Reconnect the electrical connector.
9. Reattach the Inner Door Panel:
- Realign the door panel with the door and press firmly to snap the clips back into place.
- Reinstall the screws you removed in step 3.
10. Test the Window Winder:
- Roll the window up and down to ensure the winder is functioning correctly.
