How to Change Gearbox Oil on a 1996 Rover 214 SI

Tools and Materials:

* New gearbox oil (GL-4, 75W-90)

* Oil drain pan

* Funnel

* 17mm wrench

* Rags

Instructions:

1. Park the car on a level surface and turn off the engine.

2. Engage the parking brake.

3. Crawl under the car and locate the gearbox drain plug. It is located on the bottom of the gearbox, near the rear.

4. Place the oil drain pan under the drain plug.

5. Use the 17mm wrench to loosen the drain plug and allow the old gearbox oil to drain out.

8. Remove the filler plug and insert the funnel.

10. Replace the filler plug and tighten it securely.
