1. Disconnect the battery. This will prevent any electrical sparks from igniting the fuel vapors.
2. Relieve the fuel pressure. You can do this by removing the fuel pump relay and then starting the engine. Let the engine run until it stalls.
3. Locate the fuel pump. The fuel pump is located under the rear seat of the Scenic.
4. Remove the fuel pump cover. The fuel pump cover is held in place by four screws.
5. Disconnect the fuel lines. There are two fuel lines connected to the fuel pump. Use a wrench to loosen the fuel line nuts and then pull the fuel lines off of the pump.
6. Remove the fuel pump. The fuel pump is held in place by four bolts. Use a wrench to loosen the bolts and then remove the fuel pump from the tank.
7. Install the new fuel pump. Reverse the steps above to install the new fuel pump.
8. Connect the battery.
