1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. This will help to prevent any electrical shocks.
2. Remove the air filter housing. This will give you access to the speedometer cable.
3. Disconnect the speedometer cable from the transmission. The cable is held in place by a clamp. Use a screwdriver to loosen the clamp and then pull the cable out.
4. Unscrew the old speedometer cable from the instrument cluster. The cable is held in place by a nut on the back of the cluster.
5. Screw in the new speedometer cable into the instrument cluster.
6. Reconnect the speedometer cable to the transmission.
7. Reinstall the air filter housing.
8. Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
