Materials needed:
Replacement daytime running lights
Socket wrench
Phillips head screwdriver
Flat head screwdriver
1. Park your Tahoe in a safe location and turn off the engine.
Ensure the vehicle is in Park and the parking brake is engaged.
2. Open the hood of your Tahoe.
Locate the hood release lever inside the vehicle near the driver's footwell. Pull the lever to release the hood, then lift the hood and prop it open with the hood support rod.
3. Locate the DRL assembly.
The DRL assembly is located in the front bumper, on either side of the vehicle. Look for a round or rectangular housing with a clear or amber lens.
4. Remove the old DRL.
Use a socket wrench to loosen and remove the bolts holding the DRL assembly in place. Once the bolts are removed, carefully pull the assembly out of the bumper. Disconnect any electrical connectors attached to the DRL.
5. Install the new DRL.
Position the new DRL assembly in the bumper and secure it with the bolts you removed earlier. Tighten the bolts securely. Reconnect any electrical connectors that you disconnected earlier.
6. Test the DRL.
Turn on the ignition and check that the new DRLs are working properly. They should light up when you turn on the ignition or switch the headlights to the "ON" position.
7. Close the hood.
Once you have confirmed that the new DRLs are working properly, close the hood of your Tahoe.
That's it! You have successfully replaced the daytime running lights on your 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe.
