• New coolant (suitable for your vehicle)
• A funnel
• A large container to catch the old coolant
• A pair of pliers
• A flat-head screwdriver
• A rag
Instructions:
1. Park your vehicle on a level surface and allow the engine to cool down.
2. Open the bonnet and locate the coolant expansion tank. It is usually a translucent plastic tank located near the front of the engine.
3. Remove the radiator cap carefully. Be careful as the coolant may be hot and under pressure.
4. Place the large container under the radiator drain cock, which is usually located at the bottom of the radiator.
5. Use the pliers to open the drain cock and allow the old coolant to drain into the container.
6. Once the old coolant has drained, close the drain cock.
7. Fill the coolant expansion tank with the new coolant up to the "MAX" mark.
8. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.
9. Check the coolant level in the expansion tank and top it up if necessary.
10. Replace the radiator cap.
11. Dispose of the old coolant properly.
Tips:
• Make sure that you use the correct type of coolant for your vehicle. The correct type of coolant is usually specified in your vehicle's owner's manual.
• If you are not comfortable performing this task yourself, you can take your vehicle to a qualified mechanic to have the coolant changed.
• Be careful not to spill any coolant on the engine or other painted surfaces. Coolant can damage paint.
