1. Park your vehicle in a safe location and turn off the engine.
2. Open the trunk of your vehicle.
3. Locate the access panel for the rear number plate lights. It is usually located on the inside of the trunk lid, near the license plate.
4. Remove the access panel by unscrewing the screws or clips that hold it in place.
5. Locate the faulty number plate bulb. It is usually a small, round bulb with a bayonet-type fitting.
6. Gently twist the bulb counterclockwise to remove it from the socket.
7. Insert the new bulb into the socket and twist it clockwise until it is secure.
8. Replace the access panel and close the trunk.
9. Turn on the headlights to test the new bulb.

- Make sure that the new bulb is the correct type and wattage for your vehicle.
- Be careful not to drop the bulb when removing or inserting it.
- If the bulb does not light up, check the fuse for the rear number plate lights.
