2. Locate the shift knob release button. On a 1994 Ford Thunderbird, the shift knob release button is located on the side of the shift knob.
3. Press the shift knob release button and pull the shift knob upward. The shift knob should come off easily.
4. If the shift knob does not come off easily, you may need to use a pry bar to pry it off. Be careful not to damage the shift knob or the surrounding console.
5. Once the shift knob is removed, you can replace it with a new one. To install a new shift knob, simply insert it into the shifter and push it down until it clicks into place.
