This is a simple step but also a very critical one. It's important to disconnect the battery because you'll be working with electrical components, and you don't want the fans to suddenly turn on while you're working.
Step 2: Locate the cooling fan relay.
The cooling fan relay is located in the engine bay. It's usually mounted near the radiator or the battery. The relay is a small black box with four terminals.
Step 3: Remove the cooling fan relay.
Use a screwdriver to remove the two screws that hold the cooling fan relay in place. Then, gently pull the relay out of its socket.
Step 4: Jump the relay terminals.
Use a piece of wire to jump the two terminals on the cooling fan relay. This will bypass the relay and allow the fans to run all the time.
Step 5: Reconnect the battery.
Reconnect the battery terminals and start the engine. The cooling fans should now run continuously.
Step 6: Test the cooling fans.
Let the engine run for a few minutes, and then turn on the air conditioning. The cooling fans should turn on at a higher speed. If the fans don't turn on, check your connections or replace the cooling fan relay.
Note: This modification will cause the cooling fans to run continuously, even when the engine is cold. This can reduce fuel efficiency and shorten the life of the fans. For best results, only use this modification when necessary, such as when driving in hot weather or when towing a trailer.
