Where is the gearbox oil level indicator on a vw caravelle vr6 auto?

The gearbox oil level indicator on a VW Caravelle VR6 auto can be found on the side of the transmission oil pan. It is a black plastic dipstick with a yellow ring around the top. To check the oil level, pull the dipstick out of the oil pan and wipe it clean. Then re-insert the dipstick and pull it out again. The oil level should be between the two marks on the dipstick.
