1. Locate the engine. The engine is located in the front of the vehicle, under the hood.
2. Identify the crankshaft pulley. The crankshaft pulley is located at the front of the engine, on the end of the crankshaft. It is a large, metal wheel that is connected to the crankshaft.
3. Look for the crankshaft sensor. The crankshaft sensor is located near the crankshaft pulley. It is a small, black sensor with a wire connector attached to it.
4. Disconnect the wire connector from the crankshaft sensor.
5. Remove the crankshaft sensor. The crankshaft sensor is held in place by one or two bolts. Remove the bolts and pull the sensor out of the engine.
Installation:
1. Insert the new crankshaft sensor into the engine. Make sure that the sensor is properly seated in the bore.
2. Install the bolts that hold the crankshaft sensor in place. Tighten the bolts to the specified torque.
3. Reconnect the wire connector to the crankshaft sensor.
4. Test the crankshaft sensor. Start the engine and check for any trouble codes. If there are no trouble codes, then the crankshaft sensor is working properly.
