1. Allow the engine to cool completely.
2. Drain the cooling system.
3. Remove the thermostat housing upper retaining bolt and the thermostat housing top cover assembly.
4. Remove the old thermostat from the thermostat housing.
*Note:* Clean all mating surfaces. Use a new "O"-ring gasket.
_Be sure to install a new thermostat gasket:_
5. Install the thermostat and the new "O" ring thermostat housing top cover assembly.
6. Reinstall the thermostat housing upper retaining bolt, and tighten to _10 Nm (7 ft-lb). _
7. Refill the cooling system.
