Equipment Needed:
- Flat-head Screwdriver
- Phillips-head Screwdriver
- Pliers
- Plastic Pry Tool
- Safety Goggles
1. Prepare the tractor. Park the tractor on a flat surface, and turn off the engine. Allow it to cool down. Engage the parking brake, and chock the wheels to prevent it from rolling. Put on your safety goggles.
2. Remove the sun visor. Use a flat-head screwdriver to pry off the plastic caps covering the sun visor mounting screws. Remove the screws with a Phillips-head screwdriver, and then lift off the sun visor.
3. Remove the grab handle. If your tractor has a grab handle above the windshield, use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the screws holding it in place. Set aside the grab handle and screws.
4. Remove the headliner. Starting at one corner of the headliner, use the plastic pry tool to carefully pry the headliner away from the frame of the tractor. Work your way around the entire headliner, prying it loose from the frame.
5. Disconnect the wiring. If the headliner has any wiring (for example, for lighting), carefully disconnect it. Do not pull the wires too hard, or they may break.
6. Remove the headliner. Once all the screws are removed and the wiring is disconnected, carefully lift the headliner out of the tractor.
7. Reinstall the headliner. To reinstall the headliner, simply reverse the steps you took to remove it. Start by positioning the headliner in place, then reconnect the wiring. Secure it with the screws, and then replace the sun visor and grab handle.
Note: If you are having difficulty removing the headliner, you may need to use a heat gun to loosen the glue that holds it in place. Be careful not to overheat the headliner, or it may melt or warp.
