1. Park the tractor on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
2. Remove the front wheels and tires.
3. Remove the cotter pin and castle nut from the top of the steering knuckle.
4. Remove the four bolts that hold the steering knuckle to the axle housing.
5. Carefully remove the steering knuckle and spindle assembly from the axle housing.
6. Remove the old axle from the tractor.
7. Install the new axle into the tractor.
8. Reinstall the steering knuckle and spindle assembly.
9. Reinstall the four bolts that hold the steering knuckle to the axle housing.
10. Reinstall the cotter pin and castle nut on the top of the steering knuckle.
11. Reinstall the front wheels and tires.
Here are some additional tips:
* Be sure to use a jack or support stand to support the front end of the tractor when you are removing and installing the axle.
* Be careful not to drop the steering knuckle or spindle assembly when you are removing it from the tractor.
* Use new cotter pins and castle nuts when you are reassembling the tractor.
