1. Remove the Door Panel
a. Open the van door and remove the door panel. Typically, the door panel is held in place by screws or plastic clips. Use a screwdriver or pry tool to remove the screws or clips and carefully pry the door panel off the door.
b. Some Mitsubishi Express vans may have a power window switch that is attached to the door panel. If this is the case, you will need to disconnect the electrical connector for the power window switch before you can fully remove the door panel.
2. Remove the Window Moldings
Once the door panel is removed, you will see two window moldings along the top and bottom of the window. These moldings are typically clipped or screwed in place. Use a pry tool to carefully pry the moldings off. Be careful not to break the moldings.
3. Remove the Window Sealant
Between the window and the van's body, you will see a layer of window sealant. This sealant helps to keep the water from leaking into the van. Use a utility knife to carefully cut through the window sealant. Be careful not to scratch the van's paint.
4. Push the Glass Out
Once the window sealant is cut, you can push the glass out of the door frame. Use your hands or a suction cup to push the glass out. The glass may be stuck in place, so you may need to apply some force to push it out.
5. Remove the Glass from the Door Frame
Once the glass is pushed out, you can remove it from the door frame. Be careful not to drop the glass.
6. Clean the Door Frame
Once the glass is removed, clean the door frame. Use a vacuum cleaner to remove any dirt or debris.
7. Reinstall the Window
To reinstall the window, follow the steps in reverse order. Start by cleaning the window frame. Apply a new bead of window sealant around the window frame and then push the glass back into the frame. Be sure to align the glass correctly so that it fits properly in the door frame.
8. Reattach the Window Moldings
Reattach the window moldings by snapping them back into place.
9. Reattach the Door Panel
Reattach the door panel by snapping it back into place. Be sure to reconnect the electrical connector for the power window switch, if necessary.
