1. Fuel System Issues:
- A faulty fuel pump or clogged fuel filter can restrict fuel flow to the engine, causing it to stall. After sitting for a while, the fuel pressure may build up enough to allow the engine to restart temporarily
- Leaky fuel injectors or a faulty fuel pressure regulator can also cause irregular fuel delivery, leading to the engine shutting off intermittently.
2. Idle Air Control (IAC) Valve Problems:
- IAC valve plays a crucial role in regulating the air flow when idling. A faulty IAC valve can disrupt air supply causing stall
- Carbon buildup, sticking IAC pintle valves and faulty sensors connected to the system can all contribute to irregular engine behavior.
3. Vacuum Leaks:
- Cracks or breaks in vacuum hose or gaskets can affect air-fuel mixture and engine stalling can occur.
- Vacuum leakage near fuel injectors, intake manifold or around sensors such as MAP or MAF ,can cause issues starting
4. Faulty Sensors:
- Malfunctioning O2 sensors. MAF or Crankshaft sensors can provide incorrect values causing fuel management issues
5. Mechanical issues:
- Problems like compression leaks due to worn piston rings or cylinder sealing, ignition problem like bad spark plugs could cause irregular combustion
