To fix a lawnmower that has petrol in the oil reservoir, follow these steps:

Before starting the engine:

1. Stop the engine and let it cool down completely.

2. Inspect the lawnmower for any visible defects or damage.

3. Disconnect the spark plug wire to ensure that the engine cannot be started.

Now that the lawnmower is safe to service, you can begin the process of removing the petrol from the oil.

1. Locate the oil drain plug. This is usually located on the bottom of the lawnmower engine.

2. Place an oil drain pan under the oil drain plug.

3. Remove the oil drain plug.

4. Allow all of the oil to drain from the engine.

5. Replace the oil drain plug.

Now that the oil is drained, you can remove the fuel line.

1. Locate the fuel line. This is usually a small rubber hose that connects the fuel tank to the carburetor.

2. Disconnect the fuel line from the carburetor.

3. Empty the fuel from the fuel line into a fuel can.

4. Reconnect the fuel line to the carburetor.

Now that all of the petrol is removed from your lawnmower, it is time to remove the cylinder head.

1. Locate the spark plug.

2. Remove the spark plug with a wrench.

3. Locate the cylinder head bolts.

4. Use a wrench to loosen and remove the cylinder head bolts.

5. Remove the cylinder head.

Once the cylinder head is removed, you can examine the internal components of the engine and remove the oil/petrol mixture present.

1. Inspect the piston and cylinder. Remove the excess petrol-mixed oil present in the cylinder by scraping the piston walls.

2. Inspect the piston rings.

3. Replace any damaged or worn parts.

Reassemble the engine.

1. Install the new piston and/or piston rings.

2. Install a new cylinder head gasket.

3. Install the cylinder head.

4. Reinstall the spark plug.

5. Reconnect the spark plug wire.

Once the engine is reassembled, you can add new oil,

1. Add the correct amount of new oil to the lawnmower engine.

2. Reconnect the fuel line.

Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.

Inspect the lawnmower again.

- Listen for any unusual noises or vibrations.

- Check for any leaks.

- Make sure that the engine runs smoothly.

If the lawnmower is running properly, you can now use it as usual.
