1. Gather the necessary tools and materials.
You will need:
- New upper engine oil cooler fitting
- New gasket
- Clean rags
- Oil drain pan
- Wrench
- Socket set
- Thread seal tape
2. Drain the oil from the engine.
Place the oil drain pan under the oil drain plug and loosen the plug with the wrench. Allow the oil to drain completely.
3. Locate the upper engine oil cooler fitting.
It is located on the top of the engine, near the back.
4. Remove the old fitting.
Use the wrench to loosen the old fitting and remove it from the engine.
5. Inspect the old fitting and gasket.
Replace any damaged or worn parts.
6. Apply thread seal tape to the threads of the new fitting.
This will help to prevent leaks.
7. Install the new fitting.
Screw the new fitting into the engine until it is snug.
8. Install the new gasket.
Place the new gasket on the fitting and then tighten the fitting until it is snug.
9. Reinstall the oil drain plug and fill the engine with oil.
10. Test for leaks.
Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. Check for any leaks around the upper engine oil cooler fitting. If there are any leaks, tighten the fitting until the leak stops.
