Will a blown head gasket give you poor fuel mileage?

A blown head gasket can cause poor fuel mileage. A head gasket is a seal between the engine block and the cylinder head. When the head gasket is blown, it can allow coolant to leak into the cylinders which can cause the engine to misfire and run inefficiently. This can lead to poor fuel mileage and decreased performance. Additionally, when the head gasket fails, the sealing between cylinders become ineffective which can result in higher fuel consumption by allowing fuel mixture loss during the compression stroke.
