How to Align the Transmission with the Engine on a 1994 Ford Ranger 3.0

1. Park the truck in a level spot and turn off the engine.

2. Raise the front of the truck and support it on jack stands.

3. Remove the transmission mount bolts.

4. Remove the starter motor.

5. Remove the bell housing bolts.

6. Carefully separate the transmission from the engine.

7. Inspect the transmission input shaft and the engine crankshaft for damage. If either one is damaged, it must be replaced.

8. Apply a thin coat of grease to the transmission input shaft and the engine crankshaft.

9. Carefully insert the transmission input shaft into the engine crankshaft.

10. Install the bell housing bolts.

11. Install the starter motor.

12. Install the transmission mount bolts.

13. Lower the truck off the jack stands.
