How do you use an angular gauge on a torque wrench?

An angular gauge on a click-type torque wrench is used to measure the angle the bolt or nut rotates with the final effort made by the user and the handle of the wrench.

The gauge is an essential part when achieving a specific clamping force using the torque and angles specified by the manufacturer of the part being tightened.

Angular gauges are not interchangeable between tools and cannot be used reliably with beam-type torque wrenches.
