Materials:
- New fuel sender unit (specific to your Renault Kangoo model)
- Fuel line hose clamps
- Fuel tank sealant
- Electrical tape
Instructions:
1. Park your Renault Kangoo on a level surface, turn off the engine, and allow it to cool down.
_Note: __It's important to work on a cool engine to avoid the risk of burns._
2. Locate the fuel sender unit.
_Note:__ The fuel sender unit is usually located under the rear seat of the Renault Kangoo._
3. Remove the rear seat to access the fuel sender unit.
- Use a flat-head screwdriver to pry up the plastic covers that hold the rear seat in place.
- Unbolt the seat using a socket set and remove it from the vehicle.
4. Disconnect the electrical connector and fuel lines.
- Use a flat-head screwdriver to pry up the tab on the electrical connector and disconnect it.
- Use a wrench to loosen the fuel line clamps and disconnect the fuel lines.
5. Remove the fuel sender unit from the fuel tank.
- Use a socket set to remove the bolts that hold the fuel sender unit in place.
- Carefully lift the fuel sender unit out of the fuel tank.
6. Inspect the fuel sender unit.
- Look for any signs of damage, such as cracks or leaks.
- If the fuel sender unit is damaged, replace it with a new one.
7. Install a new fuel sender unit.
- Place the new fuel sender unit into the fuel tank.
- Secure it in place with the bolts you removed earlier.
8. Reconnect the electrical connector and fuel lines.
- Reattach the fuel lines and secure them with the fuel line hose clamps.
- Reattach the electrical connector.
9. Apply fuel tank sealant around the base of the fuel sender unit.
- This will help prevent leaks.
10. Replace the rear seat.
- Align the seat with the mounting brackets and bolt it back into place.
- Snap the plastic covers back into place.
Test the fuel sender unit.
- Turn on the ignition and check the fuel gauge.
- The fuel gauge should now be accurate.
If the fuel gauge still doesn't work properly, you may need to have the vehicle diagnosed by a professional mechanic.
