Where on the distribter cap does number one spark plug wire go Chevy 350 engine with HEI ingnition?

The number one spark plug wire goes to the distributor cap terminal that is located closest to the front of the engine. This is the terminal that is directly opposite the rotor. The other spark plug wires are then installed in a clockwise direction, following the firing order of the engine. The firing order for a Chevy 350 engine with HEI ignition is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2.
