* Step 1: 22 lb ft (30 N-m)
* Step 2: 44 lb ft (60 N-m)
* Step 3: 66 lb ft (90 N-m)
Note: Use the torque angle method described below instead of torque specification step 3.
* Step 4: Turn an additional 90 degrees
Important:
* Tighten the head bolts in the proper sequence.
* Use a new head gasket.
* Do not use any sealer on the head gasket.
* Be sure the cylinder head and block surfaces are clean and free of any dirt or debris.
* Use a thread sealant on the head bolt threads.
* Tighten the head bolts in two or three steps.
* Always let the engine cool down completely before removing the head bolts.
* WARNING: Failure to follow these instructions may result in damage to the cylinder head or engine block.
