Step 1: Cleaning
- Clean all the cylinder head and bolt threads with brake cleaner to ensure they're free from dirt and other contaminants.
Step 2: Bolt Sequence
1. Start with the middle bolts:
- Tighten the two inner head bolts (located in the center of the head) to 20 ft-lbs (27 N·m).
2. Work towards the outside:
- Tighten the head bolts in the following order, moving outward from the center, alternating between the left and right sides:
- Tighten the first outer bolts to 20 ft-lbs (27 N·m).
- Tighten the next outer bolts to 20 ft-lbs (27 N·m).
Step 3: Final Tightening
- Retighten all the bolts to 55 ft-lbs (74 N·m).
