1. Locate the fuel tank. The fuel tank on a 1995 Ford Explorer is located under the vehicle, behind the rear axle.
2. Remove the fuel tank skid plate. The fuel tank skid plate is held in place by four bolts. Remove the bolts and carefully remove the skid plate.
3. Disconnect the fuel lines. There are two fuel lines that connect to the fuel tank. Use a wrench to loosen the fuel line nuts and carefully disconnect the fuel lines.
4. Remove the fuel pump assembly. The fuel pump assembly is held in place by four bolts. Remove the bolts and carefully remove the fuel pump assembly from the fuel tank.

- Be sure to disconnect the battery before you start working on the fuel system.
- When you disconnect the fuel lines, be sure to catch any spilled fuel in a container.
- Be careful not to damage the fuel tank or fuel lines when you are removing them.
