Will a 4.6 DOHC engine fit in 1995 Thunderbird?

The 4.6 DOHC engine will not fit in a 1995 Thunderbird. The 1995 Thunderbird came with a 4.0L OHV V8 engine. The 4.6 DOHC engine is wider and longer than the 4.0L OHV V8 engine. Additionally, the 4.6 DOHC engine has a different bellhousing pattern than the 4.0L OHV V8 engine. This means that the transmission from the 1995 Thunderbird would not be compatible with the 4.6 DOHC engine.
