The knock sensor is located on the driver's side of the engine, just below the cylinder head. It is a small, black cylindrical device with a single wire connecting it to the engine harness.
How to Replace the Knock Sensor
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the air intake tube.
3. Locate the knock sensor on the driver's side of the engine, just below the cylinder head.
4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the knock sensor.
5. Use a wrench to loosen the bolt that holds the knock sensor in place.
6. Remove the knock sensor from the engine.
7. Apply a small amount of sealant to the threads of the new knock sensor.
8. Screw the new knock sensor into the engine.
9. Tighten the bolt that holds the knock sensor in place.
10. Reconnect the electrical connector to the knock sensor.
11. Reinstall the air intake tube.
12. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
