1. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Locate the starter solenoid. It is usually mounted on the starter motor.
3. Connect a positive battery cable to the starter solenoid terminal marked "BAT" or "+".
4. Connect a negative battery cable to the starter solenoid terminal marked "GRD" or "-".
5. Connect the ignition wire to the starter solenoid terminal marked "S" or "I".
6. Connect the starter motor wire to the starter solenoid terminal marked "M" or "R".
7. Reconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
Test the starter by turning the ignition key to the "Start" position. The starter motor should engage and crank the engine.
If the starter does not engage, check the following:
* The battery is properly connected.
* The starter solenoid is properly connected.
* The ignition wire is properly connected.
* The starter motor wire is properly connected.
* The starter motor is grounded.
