1. Locate the AC compressor. It is usually located on the front of the engine, near the radiator.
2. You should see two lines leading to it. These are the high pressure and low-pressure refrigerant lines.
3. Disconnect the low-pressure line. This is usually the smaller of the two lines. On the 97 Breeze it will not have a cap on the end of it. You can use a line wrench or a regular wrench to loosen the fitting.
4. Once the low-pressure line is disconnected, you can remove the compressor belt. This is the belt that drives the compressor. You can use a wrench to loosen the tensioner pulley and remove the belt.
5. Once the belt is removed, you can unbolt the compressor from the engine. There are usually four bolts that hold it in place.
6. Once the compressor is unbolted, you can remove it from the engine. Be careful not to spill any refrigerant.
7. Once the compressor is removed, you can plug the openings of the refrigerant lines. You can use rubber caps or plugs for this.
8. That's it! You have now disconnected the AC compressor on your 1997 Plymouth Breeze.
Note: Disconnecting the AC compressor will disable the air conditioning system in your vehicle. If you want to be able to use the air conditioning again, you will need to have the compressor reconnected and repaired or replaced.
