How do you replace the water pump on a 1994 dodge stealth rt V6 24V DOHC?

Tools:

- Safety Glasses

- Gloves

- Wrench(es)

- Screwdriver

- Pliers

- Bucket

- Funnel

- Gasket/Sealant

- New Water Pump

Instructions:

1. Safety first! Be sure you have safety glasses and gloves.

2. To get started, ensure your engine is cool enough. If it's too warm, let it cool down for a while. This is especially important to avoid accidental scalding.

3. Park on level ground and engage the parking brake.

4. Remove the splash guard from underneath your Stealth. To do this, remove the bolts holding it in place and then pull it off carefully.

5. Now, you can see your water pump. It is located on the front side of the engine block.

6. The next step is to drain your coolant. Place your bucket under the drain cock at the bottom of the radiator and open it. Allow the coolant to drain completely into the bucket. It may take some time, so be patient.

7. When all the coolant has drained, close the drain cock and remove the serpentine belt. To do this, you'll need to adjust the tensioner using a wrench. Once loose, pull the belt gently off the pulleys.

8. Locate the 3 bolts that hold the water pump in place. Usually, these bolts are either 12 mm or 14 mm. Unscrew these bolts and remove them completely.

9. Once you've removed the bolts, you can use a screwdriver and pliers to separate the water pump from the engine. Be careful not to drop any bolts inside the engine bay.

10. Now that the old pump is out, it's time to install the new one. Before doing this, however, you'll need to clean the mating surface between the pump and the block. Use a cloth and some degreaser to remove any old sealant or gasket material.

11. Apply the sealant to the new pump according to the manufacturer's instructions. Next, place the new pump in place and re-install the bolts you removed earlier. Tighten these bolts evenly until they are snug.

12. Re-install the serpentine belt. First, adjust the tensioner to allow for easy installation. Then, place the belt around the pulleys and adjust the tensioner to the correct setting.

13. Replace the splash guard you removed in step 4 and add coolant. Use a funnel to add the coolant through the reservoir tank until the level reaches the "Full" mark.

14. Start your car and let it run for a few minutes to check for any leaks. If everything seems okay, turn off the engine and allow the coolant to cool down completely.

Congratulations, you've now successfully replaced the water pump on your 1994 Dodge Stealth RT V6 24V DOHC!
