- New front brake pads
- C-clamp or brake caliper tool
- Flathead screwdriver
-Lug wrench
-Floor jack
-Wheel chocks
-Safety glasses
Instructions:
1. Park your vehicle on a level surface and turn off the engine.
2. Engage the parking brake.
3. Loosen the lug nuts on the front wheels, but do not remove them completely.
4.Raise your vehicle using a floor jack and place it on jack stands.
5. Remove the lug nuts and take off the front wheels.
6. Locate the brake caliper. It is the metal housing that holds the brake pads in place.
7. Use a flathead screwdriver to pry open the dust boot on the caliper.
8. Remove the two bolts that hold the caliper in place.
9. Carefully lift the caliper off the rotor.
10. Remove the old brake pads from the caliper.
11. Clean the caliper and rotor with a wire brush.
12. Install the new brake pads in the caliper.
13. Reinstall the caliper and tighten the bolts.
14. Reinstall the dust boot.
15. Replace the wheels and lug nuts.
16. Lower the vehicle off the jack stands.
17. Test the brakes by applying them gently.
Note: If the brake pedal feels spongy or goes all the way to the floor, you may need to bleed the brake system.
