Jump the starter or ignition relay: This is the easiest way to start the car, but it's only temporary.
1. Locate the starter solenoid or ignition relay. These are usually located under the hood on the passenger side.
2. Jump the two terminals on the starter solenoid or ignition relay using a screwdriver or a metal object. This creates a direct connection between the battery and the starter, allowing the car to crank and start.
CAUTION: Be sure to remove the screwdriver or metal object once the car has started, as it can cause damage to the car's electrical system.
Hot-wire the car: This is a more permanent solution, but it requires some wiring knowledge and can be dangerous.
1. Locate the ignition switch. This is usually located on the steering column.
2. Remove the ignition switch and expose the wiring.
3. Connect the red wire to the hot terminal on the battery. This is the positive terminal, marked with a "+."
4. Connect the black wire to the ground terminal on the battery. This is the negative terminal, marked with a "-."
5. Once you have connected the wires, the car will start.
6. You can turn the car off by disconnecting the red wire from the battery.
CAUTION: Hot-wiring a car is illegal in many jurisdictions. Additionally, it can be dangerous due to the risk of electric shock or fire. Only do this if you have the proper knowledge and experience.
