How to Change the oil pump 1998 dodge stratus?

Tools and materials needed:

- New oil pump

- Oil pump gasket

- Oil filter

- Oil

- Oil drain pan

- Funnel

- Wrench set

- Socket set

- Screwdriver

- Pliers

Instructions:

1. Park the car on a level surface.

2. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down.

3. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.

4. Raise the front of the car using a jack and jack stands.

5. Locate the oil drain plug and place an oil drain pan underneath.

6. Remove the oil drain plug and allow the oil to drain completely.

7. Replace the oil drain plug.

8. Remove the oil filter using an oil filter wrench.

9. Apply a thin coat of new oil to the gasket of the new oil pump.

10. Install the new oil pump and tighten the bolts.

11. Connect the oil filter and tighten it.

12. Add new oil to the engine through the oil fill cap.

13. Check the oil level and add more oil if necessary.

14. Lower the front of the car.

15. Start the engine and allow it to run for a few minutes.

16. Check for leaks.

Tips:

- When removing the old oil pump, be careful not to damage the gasket surface.

- If you are not comfortable performing this repair yourself, you can have it done by a qualified mechanic.
