The crankshaft position sensor is located in the transmission bell housing. To access it, you’ll need to remove the starter.
2.7L Engine
If your vehicle is equipped with the 2.7L engine, the crankshaft sensor is located on the left (driver) side of the engine, near the oil filter.
Procedure:
1. Unplug the electrical connector from the sensor.
2. Use a 10mm wrench to loosen the bolt that holds the sensor in place.
3. Remove the sensor from the engine.
Here are some additional tips for replacing the crankshaft sensor:
- Clean the sensor with a rag before reinstalling it.
- Apply a small amount of grease to the sensor's O-ring before installing it.
- Tighten the bolt that holds the sensor in place to the specified torque.
- Reconnect the electrical connector.
