2. Remove the distributor cap by turning the two 7 mm screws counterclockwise. Lift the cap upward by applying equal pressure on both sides of the cap.
3. Crank the engine (without the distributor cap installed). Stop cranking when the timing mark on the crankshaft aligns with the 0° mark on the timing scale.
4. Align the reference notch in the rotor with the reference mark on the distributor housing.
5. Carefully lower the distributor into position, making sure that the retaining pin aligns with the groove in the distributor base.
6. Install and snug distributor cap into position.
7. Reconnect the battery cable.
