How do you remove timing belt tensioner from a 1987 Pontiac sunbird?

* 10mm socket

* 13mm socket

* Ratchet

* Extension

* Breaker bar

* Pry bar

Here are the steps to remove the timing belt tensioner:

1. Locate the timing belt tensioner. It is located on the front of the engine, just below the water pump.

2. Loosen the 13mm bolt that holds the tensioner in place. Do not remove the bolt completely.

3. Insert a pry bar between the tensioner and the engine block. Pry the tensioner away from the engine block until the belt is loose.

4. Slide the belt off of the tensioner pulley.

5. Remove the 13mm bolt and take the tensioner off of the engine.

To install the new tensioner, simply reverse the steps listed above.
