The fuel pump on a 1995 Ford Probe is located inside the fuel tank. To access the fuel pump, you will need to remove the fuel tank from the vehicle.
Fuel Tank Removal Instructions:
1. Park the vehicle on a level surface.
2. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down.
3. Locate the fuel tank under the rear of the vehicle.
4. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
5. Relieve the fuel tank pressure by opening the fuel filler cap.
6. Support the fuel tank with a jack or jack stands.
7. Disconnect the fuel lines from the fuel tank.
8. Disconnect the electrical connector from the fuel pump.
9. Remove the fuel tank mounting bolts and carefully lower the fuel tank from the vehicle.
Once you have removed the fuel tank, you will be able to access the fuel pump. The fuel pump is held in place by a metal locking ring or a plastic retaining ring.
To remove the fuel pump:
1. Remove the locking ring or the retaining ring.
2. Lift the fuel pump out of the fuel tank.
3. Inspect the fuel pump for damage or wear.
4. If the fuel pump is damaged or worn, replace it with a new one.
5. Reinstall the fuel pump and the locking ring or the retaining ring.
6. Reinstall the fuel tank and connect the fuel lines and the electrical connector.
7. Tighten the fuel tank mounting bolts.
8. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
