1. Check the Wiring Connection:
- Open the rear tailgate and locate the taillight assembly on the right side.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the taillight assembly.
- Inspect the connector for any corrosion, damage, or loose wires.
- Clean any corrosion and reconnect the electrical connector firmly.
2. Check the Brake Light Fuse:
- Open the fuse box located in the engine compartment near the battery.
- Refer to the fuse diagram on the inside cover of the fuse box to identify the brake light fuse.
- Remove the fuse and inspect it for damage or blown filaments.
- Replace the fuse with a new one of the same amperage if it is blown.
3. Check the Brake Light Switch:
- The brake light switch is located near the brake pedal under the dashboard.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the brake light switch.
- Press the brake pedal and release it.
- If the brake light turns off and on as you press and release the brake pedal, the brake light switch is functioning correctly.
- If the brake light does not change when you press or release the brake pedal, the switch may be faulty and should be replaced.
4. Further Diagnosis:
- If the issue persists after performing the above checks, it is recommended to seek assistance from a qualified mechanic or auto electrician who can diagnose and fix the problem accurately.
