1. Clean and inspect the head bolts and threads. Replace any damaged bolts or threads.
2. Apply a thin coat of engine oil to the head bolts.
3. Insert the head bolts into the cylinder head and hand-tighten them until snug.
4. Follow the torque sequence below, tightening each bolt in increments until they are fully tightened.

5. Recheck the tightness of all the head bolts after the engine has cooled.
