- A 3/8-inch drive ratchet
- A 15/16-inch socket
- A breaker bar
- A large pry bar
- A mallet
Here are the steps on how to remove the vibration damper:
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Remove the serpentine belt.
3. Remove the four bolts that hold the vibration damper to the crankshaft.
4. Insert the pry bar between the vibration damper and the timing chain cover.
5. Pry the vibration damper off of the crankshaft.
6. Remove the vibration damper from the engine.
If the vibration damper is difficult to remove, you can use a breaker bar to loosen the bolts. Be careful not to damage the crankshaft or the timing chain cover when prying the vibration damper off of the crankshaft.
