Locate the power steering fluid reservoir. It is a clear or translucent plastic tank located on the driver's side of the engine compartment, near the front of the vehicle. The reservoir has a black cap with the words "Power Steering Fluid" printed on it.
Remove the cap from the reservoir.
Check the fluid level. The fluid level should be between the "FULL" and "ADD" marks on the reservoir. If the fluid level is low, add enough fluid to bring it up to the "FULL" mark. Use only power steering fluid that meets the specifications recommended in the vehicle's owner's manual.
Replace the cap on the reservoir.
Start the engine and turn the steering wheel from lock to lock several times to circulate the fluid.
Recheck the fluid level and add more fluid if necessary.
Monitor the power steering fluid level regularly and add fluid as needed to keep it between the "FULL" and "ADD" marks on the reservoir.
