1. Connect the OBD-II scanner to the diagnostic port under the dash on the driver's side.
2. Turn the ignition key to the "ON" position, but do not start the engine.
3. Follow the prompts on the scanner to access the vehicle's computer.
4. Select the "Erase Codes" or "Reset Check Engine Light" option.
5. Confirm that you want to reset the check engine light.
6. The scanner will clear the codes and turn off the check engine light.
7. Disconnect the scanner and turn off the ignition.
Note: You can also reset the check engine light by disconnecting the negative battery terminal for at least 30 seconds.
If the check engine light comes back on after you have reset it, it means that there is still a problem with the vehicle that needs to be addressed. You can use the OBD-II scanner to read the diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) and identify the root cause of the problem.
