1. Disconnect the battery. This is important to prevent any accidental electrical shocks while you are working.
2. Remove the steering column covers. There are two covers that need to be removed: the upper cover and the lower cover. The upper cover is held in place by two screws, and the lower cover is held in place by four screws.
3. Remove the ignition switch lock cylinder. The ignition switch lock cylinder is located in the center of the steering column. It is held in place by a retaining ring. Use a screwdriver to pry the retaining ring off of the cylinder.
4. Remove the ignition cylinder. Once the retaining ring is removed, you can pull the ignition cylinder out of the steering column.
5. Install the new ignition cylinder. Insert the new ignition cylinder into the steering column and push it in until it clicks into place.
6. Replace the ignition switch lock cylinder. Replace the ignition switch lock cylinder and secure it with the retaining ring.
7. Replace the steering column covers. Replace the upper and lower steering column covers and secure them with the screws.
8. Reconnect the battery.
